Hidden constipators!

DS is struggling with constipation. I know about bananas and thanks to MN I've found out that carrots can also be a bit of a cork. Any other hidden ones to avoid? I thought that apples were good to have but according to posts below you should avoid apples. Am a bit Confused about what I should be giving him and what to avoid. Doesn't really help that he's just been ill so is off most food at the moment. Thanks

weetabix is awful for my boys

Hi Thisis yesterday

That's exactly the kind of thing I was meaning! I've been pouring Weetabix into him thinking it would help and it might be doing the opposite Sad Back to porridge then I feel.

does he need more fluids? Apple juice can apparently be good for constipation but not apple puree as it has higher pectin levels. Baby rice can also be constipating. Prunes/prune juice can help relieve constipation. What milk does he have (breast/formula?) If he has follow on milk that can be constipating too due to high iron levels

Hi Seona

He still BF 3-4 times per day and once overnight. We're working on increasing water intake. He had 5 prunes 2 days ago and they've still not reappeared yet!!

Thanks for your reply.
