Hi

I am currently weaning ny daughter and I am giving her rice last thing at night with 5floz of milk after but she seems not to go through the night with this. She has two helpings of rice including the milk but is still going to her usual 3-4 hours. Am i doing anything wrong? She is on hungry milk. I was breastfeeding her up until 4 weeks ago as I was drying up and not satisfying her. She is also having porridge in a morning and 3 milk feeds during the day each with 7floz of milk which she drinks all up. Can anyone suggest anything? Is it too early to try fruit with the rice?

Weaning is, sadly, not the key to sleeping through- if only it was!! How old is she?

Can you increase the number of milk feeds maybe? Milk will be more filling than baby rice or fruit.

How old is she?

my ds never slept through without a feed until he was 8 months old and well established on solids (starting weaning around 5 1/2 monthd). Sleeping is developmental rather than just based on hunger.

p.s. 3 feeds may not be enough per day (depending on her age) and if she is finishing the whole amount then offer more in each bottle.

my girl started on solids at 5months and she is now almost 9months and has only just started sleeping all the way through.

not sure but i thought it has a lot to do with her putting on more weight(very petite).

no, you aren't doing anytthing wrong

she is being a normal baby, who wakes at night. which is what babies do

feeding her more and more and more won't force her to sleep through
