i know the stuff about how your breastmilk has more calories than any food/formula at the moment but my LO is NOT interested in food...at all. but i've just spent the night with her more or less attached to the boob (DH away so was on own) and so of course she wasn't interested in breakfast at all... she flatly refused a bottle when my nipples started complaining! Smile

so do you think she should be eating more food by now?
FWIW I did BLW with my first DD...DD2 isn't interested in that. well,it's sporadic but generally not so curious.
I do have a suspicion of a tongue tie - would that make a difference?
help plllleeeease

Sweet Melk I am, as you know, the worst qualified on here to help afetr my shockingly poor experiences of weaning thus far. My thoughts FWTW...

  1. Is she maybe poorly atm? Nursing is obviously more than just food it's comfort too. Check her for hand foot and mouth, normal cold, tummy upset???

  2. I would think by 9 months she should be taking a reasonable amount of her nutrition as 3 meals. And is probably reverse cycling if she's feeding all night.

  3. Have you tried (YES ARCADIE YES I HAVE...) alternating really sweet purées (apple and banana for example) with a bit of chicken casserole or something with a bit more protein in it? It's how I con DS2. He ONLY wants sweet stuff so will eat as much purée as goes near him and can be cajoled into spag bol the the promise of more sweet stuff.

  4. Only RL case I know of a physiological reason for not eating was Carrie's daughter who had a brief stint of cranial osteopathy and whose jaw was possibly a bit jammed and miraculously opened wide for food straight after a bit of head proddance.

  5. I know nothing about tongue ties. Sorry. Try PD.
