Possible issue with baby rice?

Hi, hoping for some advice!

DS is 5 1/2 months old and after getting some very clear signs for weaning, I started him on tiny amounts of baby rice with breast milk last weekend.

He didn't seem that excited about it, but was lapping the spoon, but what worries me is that the last two days he has then not wanted to rest of my boob, and about an hour later has been sick. Could be unrelated, but he's not one for refusing food, nor is he a sicky baby.

Should I leave weaning for a bit, or try a bit of pureed carrot, and if he's still non-plussed, wait another week or so?

All advice warmly received!

Hi,

Are you giving him a full feed first? I have always been told to do that, not sure about the being sick, maybe leave it a couple of days and try again?

No, just a half feed. I agree to leave it a few days and see if he's interested then.

Thanks for your advice!
