8 month old keeps vomitting

My 9month old son keeps vomitting after food - not every time - but sometimes. He is breastfed and still loves to feed from me - at least 5 times a day and a lot at night. He does eat most things, but not every day (some days he seems to eat loads and the next hardly anything), and is sometimes sick during meal times. Projectile vomit. He posetted a lot as a young baby too.

The health visitor said it could be because he has a cold, because he is over feeding and/or because he is rejecting lumps.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I am not too worried, as he is above the 91st percentile and still growing! He has plenty of wet and dirty nappies and is very well in himself - full of fun and energy.

It'd just be good to know other similar experiences.

Thanks!

I'm no health professional, but if he's well over 91st percentile and sick during meals, it sounds like he might be overeating.

Eating lots more some days than others is quite common in babies and toddlers.

At 9 months would expect most nutrition to still come from milk, so don't worry about it nutrition wise.

Perhaps reduce how much you offer at each meal, even if he likes it. Better for a little to go down and stay down, than for a lot to go in then straight back out again!

It is quite common to overestimate how much food a young child needs.

If he's has been above the 91st centile from birth or thereabouts it may mean that he is just a big baby though. My DD has always been a very sicky baby. She is nine months now and has just grown out of it. It never affected her weight or anything though and I think it was just her digestive system wasn't as mature as it should have been.

Out of curiousity though.. How much do you offer at meals?
