Two silly questions about purees!

I have made a number of my own fruit and veggie purees and they are sitting in my freezer. Two stupid questions:

  1. do I have to heat the purees to piping hot and then let cool again before I serve them? Or can I simply let them defrost and serve?
  2. once defrosted, how long can I keep a puree in the fridge?

Sorry these questions are so basic.....
Thank you!

you can keep them in the fridge for as long as you would keep that vegetable in the fridge for. I personally wouldnt go past about 4 days but that is me.

Re the heating, i have always heated them up in the microwave and then let them cool down before serving.

Another silly question (though I didn't think yours were silly!) - do you mix puree with milk & then freeze or add formula/milk when defrosted?

i add it when defrosted unless it is in a cheese sauce or something integral to the meal.

and i dont think either are silly questions. Grin
