bibs - how to keep them on or alternative suggestions

My 11 mo dd won't keep her bib on for more than 5 mins. I use one of the long sleeved ones that velcro behind the neck and she just tugs at it until the velcro goes, peels it off and drops it on the floor.

I've tried distraction and it's not working, has anyone any suggestions on how to stop her or what I can use instead to keep her clothese clean? She is BLW and it's messy.

Hi blackteaplease

My DD was BLW and FWIW the mess does get better! I think she now makes almost as little mess as a grown up at 19mo.

She would also never wear a bib, but for some reason does tolerate a muslin tied around her neck, and always has. I also sometimes just let her get her top filthy and then put it in the wash- I figured that I would be washing the bib anyway, so might as well wash the top!

Good luck- I am so pleased that I persevered at BLW- it was the best thing I did for my DD!

You may not like my advice but I just didn't use bibs. Wasn't worth the hassle trying to keep them on him!

I have got some with long sleeves which might be harder to pull off...

Hi Lucy101, it is the long sleeved ones I am using.

I might try the muslin as Jeffily suggested, or maybe get an old top and pop that on her.
