DD is 5 mo old today. I have been watching her keenly as her gross motor skills always seemed ahead of text book baby.

so far, she can sit unaided for short bursts. even watched her counterbalancing practice a bit yesterday.

can do pincer movement with thumb and forefinger

double birth wt.

it looks like the tongue reflex is gone.

would you still wait or would you experiment. last week she screamed at me when I put a bit of banana in my mouth. I broke off a tiny bit of banana a few times and gave it to her. that's when I was sure the reflex is gone.

I also am nervous about starting to wean as she has developed bad eczema despite being b/fed nearly exclusively. Had been getting some formula up to 8 wks but was exclusively fed till 19 wks when she went to nursery and is now getting between 2 and 5 oz of formula, 5 dys a wk.

The eczema thing is a different thread but thought I would mention it here.
