Hi i am just starting to wean my DD2 nealr 6 months, she is having Breakfast at the moment but i am wondering re BLW.

What food can you give them with BLW, i do panic with regards to choking so was wondering what others have tried.

My DS is 9 months and has had a conbination of puree and finger food since 6 months. His favourites are sticks of cheddar cheese and cooked sticks of brocolli, baby corn, carrot and corgette. His also likes buttered toast as long as it is still fairly soft.
He has had no problem with choking as I only give him soft stuff and on the occasions that he has kind of choked (due to not chewing enough before trying to swallow) it just made him vomit out the last few mouthfuls and he was not distressed by it.

Anything you eat (assuming it's not high in salt or sugar and no honey) they can eat. Literally plate up your lunch and put three bits from it on her plate/tray. To start with she'll mostly just play anyway - it was quite a shock when DS actually started eating the food!

I'd try toast (buttered or with houmous or cream cheese) fingers, breadsticks, rice cakes, sticks of cooked veg, sticks of fruit, strips of cooked chicken etc.
