Hi all,
I'm generally a huge believer in the 'kids don't have the mental capacity to voluntary starve themselves' school of thought...but is easier said than done when it comes to my own cherub and getting increasingly stressed over his refusal to eat/ selective eating.
He seems to eat well at breakfast, bottle, cereal/toast etc then the rest of the day eats virtually nothing.
Have tried giving him nothing between meals-variable success( maybe tried lunch or a few spoonfuls of dinner).
Sitting him down with plate of what we are having at table and not giving him much attention apart from offering a few spoonfuls which he just shook his head at.
So am stuck as to what else to do, i wonder whether to just give in to his demands- in which case he would eat a couple of yogurts and some custard(or similar) in a day as a least that would mean he was eating something as he is constantly in fridge pulling them out and saying 'this'!!
Any advice would be great as loosing the will to live stressing about it all the time

Does he feed himself? Just wondering if going back to basics and letting him dig in with his hands to explore the food might be good idea?

What about putting a little snack platter out? DD loves this as she can just help herself as she goes about her business.

If he likes toast, maybe sandwiches made with toast, cut up quite small? Could he be teething?
