DS 10 months now, weaned at 6 months- mainly pureed foods but has always had some form of finger food in front of him as well at lunch time/ tea time eg mini sandwiches (with various fillings)/ fruit & veg sticks/ rice cakes/ crackers/ biscuits/ breadsticks/ toast(with various toppings) / chicken/ cheese/ cakes! ie LOTS of different things!!
The thing is he can pick them up, put them in his mouth, clearly enjoys the taste and chews them..... and then SPITS THEM OUT! He never swallows anything- I just thought we would have made a bit of progress by now, it's really frustrating! He has 8 teeth!
It's not that much of an issue at home as I can feed him more mush (no lumps!!) but he started nursery a month ago and one of the "meals" is sandwiches/ crackers/ beans on toast so he comes home starving. I send him with a jar and sometimes they give him that but they obviously see him putting food in his mouth and assume he is actually eating it. If we feed him at 6pm he then doesn't want any milk before bedtime and I struggle to get enough milk into him at the best of times!!
Oh, I know it's not the end of the world but if anyone has any advice or words of wisdom they would be very gratefully received!!
Thanks
