Morning everyone, I'm just looking for a little advice. I started blw yesterday with a little banana. Bub is very interested and seems to know what to do but this morning she not only gagged a bit but puked up a couple of mouthfuls of her milk (Gave her a little befoe, we are ebf) as well as the banana which caused the gagging. Have I started too soon or is this normal? Should I wait til she gets the hang of banana before trying anything else? Feeling a bit Confused. DD is 25 weeks...
Any advice would be very welcome!

100% normal!

DD found banana too slimey and hard to handle in the early days, so didn't get the hang of it for a while.

No need to wait for her to master anything. Just offer her lots of different textures and tastes and let her explore.

She will gag. Some of them are worse than others, some vomit with it, some don't. But it's all normal.

Repeat after me: Gagging is good :o It's her safety mechanism. It stops her choking. Her gagging helps her learn that she needs to chew it up, that she can't just swallow huge lumps.

Have fun. It's sooooooo worth it! I now have a 15 month old who will try absolutely anything!

Thanks so much thats good to hear.
I cut the banana in half and just peeled the top inch so she's got a big handle, works a treat!
Will continue blw with confidence (smile]
