oxo cubes

dd is 8 mo. Recently we were at MILs who had made leek and potato soup (dds favourite). I checked that she hadn't added salt but she later mentioned that she had put an oxo cube in it. Is this too salty for an 8mo?

I worry about salt loads and MIL knows this and thinks I'm a bit daft. She cooks with loads of salt and adds it at the table and seems to take it as a personal insult when I ask her not to, so I don't want to make a fuss about her using oxos in food for dd, but I also don't want to give her too much salt. I use salt-free cubes at home, but don't want to risk offending MIL by giving her some unless its necessary - does anyone know?

Little bits of saltier food, irregularly, won't cause any harm. Just make sure your DD has plenty to drink during the day if she's eaten something you think is higher in salt than she's used to.

I wouldn't worry if it was a one off. Heinz do some stock cubes especially for babies which are really low salt.
