Fluids! Aargh!

I am weaning my 11.5mo off the boob. He's never been that interested TBH, and it's always been a struggle to get him to breastfeed enough, or for long enough. We're down to 2 times a day, on waking and before dinner. They are not big feeds (5mins each perhaps)

He loves food and eats loads of yoghurt, cheese, really varied diet all round, so I'm not TOO anxious about calcium (but I am a bit)

BUT he'll only take sips of water or cow's milk - probably amounts to 50ml per day.

So I'm worried about fluids. Is anyone else finding this? I just don't know how to get more into him. I'm trying to trust that he'll drink when he's thirsty, but it's hard....

do his nappies suggest he's dehydrated? If he's weeing and pooing lots and the poo is soft he's probably getting enough liquid

You could try other drinks, for example, watered down fruit juice or squash?

Thanks guys. His nappies seem ok, very runny poo (too runny?? Argh) and lots of it. Wee is yellow but not dark.

I will try other drinks, Baby. I was getting in a stew about him Only Having Water and Milk but that's a bit daft seeing as he eats loads of fruit and (shock horror) does have some sugar in the odd thing.

Thanks again
