Baby breakfasts contain milk, but I thought milk wasn't allowed yet?

So I'm looking to introduce breakfasts from next week, but when I looked at the ingredients for baby cereals (Heinz etc) I notice they have milk in them already - you just add water.
How is that ok for a small tummy when milk isn't allowed until a year?

How old?

Why bother with them anyways? why not just go with normal breakfasts? Toast, banana etc?

From 6 months normal cows milk is fine in foods or added to cereals.

You can use milk in things just not as a main drink.

Ah, gotcha... thanks all!

TotosOcarina, he's 6.5 mo, and I'm only gonna use them as a back-up - he's not doing solid stuff like toast but I reckon fruit purees and fromage frais etc will work.
