Blw is not just for bf mums is it? I can see how it fits with bf on demand but DD is ff and would much prefer to do blw than purees.

You can feed your baby whichever way you wish whichever kind of milk you're using. I ff and am doing mainly pureeing but have been playing with finger foods as well. i

Hi

I'm sure you can ff and blw. There's a forum here where you can get in touch with other blwers, I've found them v helpful so far

Hope that helps

Hi,

I bottlefed DS EBM and DD had similar although she would latch on for comfort (so both pretty much bottlefed). I BLW DS and DD and it went brilliantly.

I think the reason they link it to BF is because it is a natural follow-on from the baby feeding themselves on demand by breastfeeding. In the same way, they choose to eat what and when they like. However, it's not as if bottlefeeding mums sit there shoving the milk down a baby's throat against their will is it, so it can still work fine IMO. DD is thriving on it anyway (9 months).

Thanks - that's what I thought strikeuptheband. I do ff dd, but don't exactly ram it down her throat, she really does eat whenever she wants!

Will check out that forum too.
