alternative first breakfasts

My DD is approaching 6mths and happily wolfs down veggie purees (I began weaning at 5mths for various reasons I won't go into) but baby porridge/rice type things mixed with formula get spit out, and what does go down gets brought back up within 5 minutes. Are there alternative breakfasts I can give her? Does she need to have cereal at breakfast to get any particular nutrients (I'm thinking iron maybe?)]or would she be able to get them from something else? She is lactose intolerant (on LF formula from doc) and has bad reflux.

I gave mine fruit purees with coucous (if past 6 months), semolina or tapioca (corn semolina, maize can be use before 6 months).
oats/porridge after 6 months.
first DD was on wheatabix (after 6 montsh)
potato bread, sweat potato cakes before 6 months.
Have you try adding fruits/vegetale to the baby rice? (taste it, it is wile why would they want to eat it?)

She should be able to have the iron from the formula and some leafy greens (then lentils, meat and eggs when you start after 6 months).
Now DD2 (7 months) love bread and toasts for breakfast.

they need 3 balanced meals a day after 6 months (depending of their abilities and hunger). half of a meal is fiber (fruits or veg), 2/3 of the other half is strach (potato or cereals/bread/pasta/rice...), the rest is proteins (eggs/fish/meat/lentils/beans/cheese/yougurt...).
At night it is best to have proteins from beans/lentils or yogurt. Keep the meat and eggs for lunch or breakfast.

Of course you have to adapt for allergic babies and delay certain food past 1 yo.
Can you check with your GP/MW?

DS2 (6.5 months) loves Shredded Wheat bitesize at breakfast, it's just wheat and no added anything. If your DD is lactose intolerant you could just soak some in the LF formula or a little water or fruit juice?

Your DD will get iron from her veggie puree. My DC loved baby rice mixed with formula and a wee bit of fruit mixed in.

'they need 3 balanced meals a day after 6 months' -- no they don't! Rushing a baby on to 3 meals a day at 6 months is likely to cause constipation. You're supposed to introduce food gradually.

Your DD will still be getting iron from her formula (as a primary source). Agree with MrsJamin that you could just soak normal cereal in formula, or give fruit puree on toast (even non-BLW babies like to suck toast), that sort of thing.

have you tried a boiled egg? In slices or chopped and mixed with your milk.
