Tripp Trapp Harness

Hi,

I'm a bit confused about the five point harness for the Tripp Trapp high chair and I'm hoping someone can help me out!

I've read that you can buy a five point harness, but when I search for it all of the results seem to show a four point harness.

Have a look at these results here: www.google.co.uk/products?client=safari&rls=en&q=tripp%20trapp%20five%20point%20harness&oe=UTF-8&redir_esc=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wf

You'll notice that every harness pictured has four points (2 shoulders, 2 round the waist). Surely there should be a strap which goes between the child's legs and attaches to the seat?

Could someone who has a Tripp Trapp with a five point harness please let me know what the five point harness looks like, and where I can buy one from?

Thanks!

Were you not planning on using the baby set with the harness?

If so then there is already a bar there so I'm not sure why you would need an aditional strap on the harness.

The baby set has a strap in the centre, between the child's legs.

So it does make sense. And if they are old enough to not need the baby set, they don't really need the harness either IMHO.

For DD we used the baby set but no harness. DS however is a trainee stuntman so we used the harness for him. Cushions waste of time and money.

Ours is a 9 year old Tripp Trapp, but we just bought an ordinary harness (ie one that also had a "lead" that could be attached, which was great for later when we were out and about), attached it to the D rings on the chair and volia - a safe baby.

We already had the baby set, so it had the strap in the cntre between the baby#s legs.

The harness is really rubbish and we have never used it with our Tripp Trapp. Our DD is 6 months old and sits just fine without it.
It might possibly be useful once she's a lot older and the baby bar (and between the legs strap) has been taken off, but I would have thought at that point she would not need a harness at all.
My recommendation is not to buy one at all.

NB - The new Stokke baby sets are an all-in-one plastic thingy and I suspect you could not use a 5-point harness with it at all.

Like prettybird, we just have a harness (reins) that we attach to the chair. No babyset, but we got the chair when DD was about 9 months and sitting well.

That's the word I couldn't remember: "reins" Blush (aka "a harness with a lead bit" Wink)

You'd never guess that ds will be 10 next week, so this is all in the dim and distant past! Grin

... but he is still using his Tripp Trapp :)

Harness is 4 point. But the plastic baby holder thing has the inbetween legs bit, so technically they are strapped by 5 points.

You can get a 5 point harness, but it seems like it is just for our American friends! I was researching the same issue as we have the new plastic babyset and my little one has just about outgrown it (she's 21 months), but she won't sit properly on the chair without any harness and I'm a bit baffeled as to why her harness only has 4 points but there is a gap in it for a crotch section... The Americans also get theirs attached to the wooden back, which seems more secure than clipping the harness to the sides. My wiggle bum of a toddler is all over the place in her Tripp trapp and I wish we had that 5th point between her legs to stop her sliding her bum off the front of the seat now we have removed the babyset!!
