Too much milk?

Hi, I've been weaning dd (7mo) for nearly 2 months. Shes doing well, eating fish, chicken and veggies but I think shes having too much milk. Shes still on 5 bottles a day- I give her milk with breakfast, lunch and tea, a bottle before bed and a dreamfeed at 10ish(we are going to attempt dropping this at weekend). She has her food and then bottle straight after and sometimes drinks 6-8 oz!Ive tried increasing her food but she gets to the point where she doesnt want any more. Do you think this is a problem?

No, milk is still them most imporant part of their diet at this age and babies will not overfeed.

My ds is 6.5 months and I have changed his feeding pattern from 5 bottles and 2 feeds to 4 bottles (8ozs) of milk every 4 hours and 3 feeds. This is how our typical day goes
Fruity baby rice and bottle around 8.30 - breakfast
Half a jar of food and bottle about 12.30 - lunch
Remainder of the jar and a pudding of some sort plus bottle 16.30 - dinner
Bottle only at 20.30 - supper
Then bath and bed, he's established his own sleepy time at 20.45. If he wakes in the night I have started to leave him for 5 mins before I go into him, but have not offered any night time feeds for about 3 months unless he had missed a bottle in the day.

That sounds similar to what I'm doing, but she still has a dream feed before we go to bed. We're going to try and drop this and hopefully she'll eat more food during the day then. You're lucky that you don't get up til 8.30!!

I get up at 6.30, I'm back at work now so I have to get him up by 8 at the latest so he has to wait til I've dropped him off with whoever looks after him that day before he has any breakfast.

have you tried alternating the food and bottle instead of giving them at the same time?

ie, with ds we do

7am bottle
9am breakfast
11am bottle
1pm lunch
3/4pm bottle
5.30ish dinner
7ish bottle
BED!

i was also doing a dreamfeed which he dropped by himself.

Tried that but she was too tired to do that- didnt fit in very well. I think shes ok as she is really. She doesnt wake up for her last feed, we literally pick her up from cot, feed her asleep and then put her back down. Will quite miss it in a way- she looks so peaceful

i think i will try as starover said, dd has
7-7oz milk
11-breakfast+2 milk
2-3- lunch +2 milk
6-7- dinner + 20z milk
9.30-10- 7oz milk

is it too late to go bed at 9.30 to 10 at night she won`t go bed before that she is no 5m and we tried and gave up
seems like all the other babies go bed at7-8 oclock

diva... my ds has only recently started going to bed earlier... used to be around half 8 or 9 o'clock

he is now 7 months and for the past few weeks has been getting tired and grumpy earlier... hence the shift forward for bedtime!
