Did you buy new spoons / cutlery etc for second children?

A friend was surprised I'm intending to use the old weaning spoons DS1 used (due to them being plastic) for DS2. I hadn't even thought of having to replace them all for DS2.

I think because of BPA and that plastic has a 'shelf life'. (Is it BPA in plastic that can be harmful if they start to erode?) I thought madness too, but wondered if I was being neglectful :)
