Greedy or just exploring?

Any advice would be very helpful.

DS is almost 6.5 month old, was weaned just before 6 months. He's a big boy, 91st% for length and weight; he weighs around 20lbs.

He's loved every food I've ever given to him and eats 3 times a day - baby cereal for breakfast, blended veg and meat for lunch and a porridge for supper.

He's still having the same amount of milk as he had before weaning started.

This is the question: every time he sees me or anyone around him eating he almost throws himself at them to get a bit and makes noises like he wants the food.

Is this him being curious or do you think he is actually hungry? Should he be on snacks between meals yet, or should I stick with the 3 meals for the time being?

TIA

I would stick with three meals. he has probably made the connection between food and mouth and just wants to try everyone elses as he is exploring tastes and textures. At this age it is still all about exploration and they should still get most of their nutrition from milk, so I wouldnt start snacks yet as it might affect his appetite for milk.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I was sort of thinking that too.

Hmmm I was going to say to let him try things youre having as itll expand him repertoire...

Yes, he can try it, I was just sayig that he didnt need snacks as a regular thing. But a little bit o this ad that certainly wont hurt and yes, will increase his range of tastes.

What I have been doing is letting him have a taste on the end of my finger, if he looks very interested in whatever I'm eating.

Not snacks as such, just little tastes.

So far I've found nothing he doesn't like :)
