3 meals at 6 months? HV advice...

DD is 6 months this week, and on 9th centile. She's quite a small baby. We're plodding along ok with weaning, she has:
7oz milk when she wakes up
porridge for breakfast and bit of banana
7oz milk for lunch
a bowl of dinner (either pureed what we have or pouch) and a fromage frais
7oz milk before bed

She seems fine with this. Sleeps through for 12 hours, doesn't seem any hungrier in the day. Went to baby clinic today, HV says she should start having 3 food meals a day now, and 3 bottles. I was a bit surprised by this, it seems a lot.

Anyone else's 6 month old eating this much? And if so, what do I give her for lunch, I'm really not sure on this one. I normally have myself a sandwich and packet of crisps piece of fruit, but she can't have that, can she.
Any advice appreciated.

it does seem fine for a 6mo, but yes she can have a sandwich!
Just tell the HV how she had a full roast dinner & plum pudding

I only started weaning DS at 6 months and he wasn't on three meals until a couple of months later, I think.
Milk is far more important at this age.

You can try her with a bit of sandwich you know. Or a deconstructed sandwich - bit of bread, bit of cheese, some fruit.

Just don't share your crisps!

My DD is 7 months and eats the same as yours, she is happy with the amount she eats and doesnt seem to need anymore at the minute. Just keep doing what you are doing, she will let you know when she is ready for more...

Your HV is talking bollocks.

Agree with all the above. We only started weaning at 6 months (BLW).

Lots of BLW babies don't start properly eating until 8/9/10 months so there's no rush IMO.
