Well done on starting BLW- I did it with DS1 (now 2.5) and it was great, just about to start again with DS2 (6 months in a few weeks). A lot of BLWers hang out on this thread - so you might find this best for general BLW chat?

Hi Hana, I am doing some baby led weaning with some purees too, does that count me out, heehee? (not that she actually lets me feed her, she insists on taking the loaded spoon herself...)How old is your lo? My dd is 7 1/2 months and we decided to give blw a shot when she went on a bit of a solids strike regarding the purees. I just think she wants to be independant, she kept on grabbing the spoon off me!

Hi there, my ds is 6 months old tomorrow and we just started blw in the last week or so...

we had been told we needed to give him antibiotic liquid for something and he absolutely hated hated hated the taste. i wasn't very pleased that his first experience of 'eating' was so negative so we kich started the blw. it seems so random as to whethre food makes it to the mouth or not! but going reasonbly well so far! and i like cooking so its a good excuse to spend part of the day doing something i like!

not tried any purees yet but def not ruling it out

Well done Hana1, BLW is so easy. It really could not be simpler. Give your child the food you are eating (missing out the salt and the naughty bits)and enjoy meal times together. Not expensive or flash as some say. We have had so much fun since we started with Pumkin 3 months ago. He has thrived on it so much, we've even started a blog www.itsyummymummy.com We did this because other mummy friends were finding the whole thing time consuming and frustrating. We have just taken it on as a bit of fun and enjoyed it. I was b'feeding P at beginning and made sure he was happy and getting both milk and food. they soon start to drop the milk and eat more. They are the guides so don't feel you need to ram food in their mouths. good luck and shout if you need help xx
