Hi

Any advice gratefully received....

DS 7 months. Started weaning 6-7 weeks ago with purees. Built up to 3 meals a day after 1 month and all going smoothly. He has never taken a long time to BF (dropped feed/ wk from 20 wks & mixed feeding until 3 wks ago, now stopped BFing altogether)or taken massive volumes of FF (max 5-7oz). Has had bottle from 3 wks and has always taken well but has been taking less and less since started weaning, on a good day was getting 18oz into him in 4-5 feeds/day.

He had a cold last wk and went off food (understandable) but milk as well and to a greater degree than food. Is eating (but not massive amounts) but really doesn't want any milk. 6-8oz max in 4-5 feeds/day. He doesn't really drink water (offer tommy tippee at every meal but most of it gets spat out.) This morning (having last fed at 6pm) he only had 3 1/2oz- it's like he can't be bothered, he loses interest v quickly.

We have always done DF (a good feed and good opportunity to catch up) but now he refuses that as well.

Is on size 3 and 4 teats now but doesn't make much difference.

My question is (sorry for pre amble)....

Is it worth trying different formula/ bottles & teats/ milk from Doidy cup?

Should I reduce the number of times I offer him milk during the day and see if he will take a latger volume in morning and evening?

Should I cut out a meal?

I try and offer milk before every meal but he just does not want it. He will then happily have his chicken casserole!

I keep reading about the minimum amounts of milk that he should be having each day and we are nowhere near that. He loves cheese sauce and is also currently having some yoghurt at every meal!

Please reassure me that I am not damaging him. Or if you think I am, suggest what I should do!

Many thanks in advance
