I have just started weaning my twins but to be honest i am worried about choking.
I guess i would like to be reassured that it is ok when they shove a huge bit of banana in their mouths, trying not to be too PFB but this really is worrying me so then i think im not giving them enough food.
TIA

Have a look here I think it may actually be run by someone from this site.

Anyways it is normal for babies to gag, afaik actual choking is relatively rare.

There are lots of 'safe feeders' around which allow you to put bits of fruit into the little bag which the baby can gum on and stillg et all of the goodness from but without the chance of choking. I used lots of apple bits and that was also great for teething. Try to enjoy the weaning process, its lots of fun!

It is important to be aware of what to do if your child chokes, but it is quite rare to do so. It is more likely that your children will gag on food - i.e. go red, and spit the food out again, than for a piece of food to lodge in the windpipe and stop your child's breathing.

I would steer clear of 'safe feeders', they just aren't necessary and are a bit weird really, eating through a bag. Don't give unpureed apple until a year as it's really hard and more likely to choke on. (sorry I disagree with you snuppeline!).

And yes the BLW website is run by Aitch who is on MN - she does the MN talk round up email.

thankyou for the replies, have looked at that website and it is very informative.
Think i might need a mixture of puree and BLW as one twin doesnt seem to like a spoon and puree in her mouth but nearly rips food out of my hand. The other is quite happy to let me feed him while he relaxes!
