No dairy?

We're not quite at the weaning stage yet but was wondering for those LO's that can't have dairy is there anything in particular you need to do, in order to compensate?

Plan to hopefully extend bf, but want to introduce only limited amounts of meat?

hello CC!
have a look at that www.kellymom.com/nutrition/vitamins/calcium.html#list
tin sardines (with the bones) or baby fish (eels) are very good source of calcium (the sole in japanese diet). If fish is meat too , I think your BM will have more than enough providing your DD drinks plenty.
be carefull with nuts products though and check from what age they are good to give with an expert.
good luck

thanks mama

Didn't realise kellymom did food as well milk. Will the wonders of that website never cease.

mamloco hi - there are some lovely and very knowledgeable people on the allergies thread (under health) who will be able to answer any questions at all that you have when you get going. There are loooooooooooads of us in the same boat!

ClimberChick · 23/07/2010 03:10

thanks for the heads up

That link confuses me. Breastfeeding mums with CMP intolerant babies often have to cut dairy out of their own diet, because of protein transfer in the milk. Surely by that logic, all exclusively breastfed infants where mums eat dairy have early indirect exposure?

Of course, note with interest: "Supported by the Israel Dairy Board." & " Disclosure of potential conflict of interest: Y. Katz has received research support from the Israel Dairy Board."

Hi CC quinoa will be a good source of calcium for your DD should she needs it.

ClimberChick · 24/07/2010 21:20

tiktok posted a link that criticises that research paper. We can all breathe easy again
