Just started weaning, this is week 3 and so far so good - but my goodness, its a sticky business! This is what i am doing

7am - milk
8am - 2 icecubes of fruit puree or fruity porridge
11am - milk
1pm - drink of water
3pm - milk
5.30pm - 2 cubes of veg puree and 1 cube of fruit puree
7pm - milk
10pm - milk

Questions -

  1. am i feeding too much?! DD is fairly hefty but still in the right percentile, but at 5 months i don't want her to get too big before she can get mobile and burn it off - mind you, lvoe those chubby thighs!
  1. when can i drop the 10pm feed? She sleeps through, and often dream feeds this feed.
  1. Should i keep all the milk feeds too during the day, she is taking them, bar now and again only half the 11am one.

Many thanks xx

I'm not an expert (did baby led weaning, so don't know about purees) although it looks ok to me. Milk is the key, really at this age, isn't it.
i think if I were you, I'd replace one of the fruit with some pureed veg? Quite a lot of sugar in fruit I think.

Sounds fine to me... I'm saying that because it looks pretty much the same as what I'm doing with my DS

From what I've read elsewhere, up until a year old milk (breast/formula) should be the main thing and food is to explore new textures, tastes and for extra nutrients. So, try to keep the milk feeds the same.
