Looking to book this for an upcoming trip. Does anyone have any insider knowledge on how to get a booking for this from the UK or should I give up now?

They release bookings 60 days in advance at midnight USA time so 5am uk time. You will need to use a vpn to book as well as we can’t access the Disney.com from uk. You can also try for cancellations once you are out there, or try for a walk in. I managed to book using a vpn but it wasn’t for our preferred day so when we were actually out there we went in person on the day and asked if they had any walk ins available and they did - they allow a certain number per day so then we cancelled our original reservation. Apparently this is quite common so keep trying once you are closer to the time or in person if you don’t have luck before.

Thank you, seems as though I may have a little more chance than I thought. I will give it a go!

@theyawnicorn

You could also sign up to Mousewatcher, they send availability alerts

eta; also sign up to WDW to add your profile onto the My Disney Experience

The Dibb suggests

Target Late Trip Days: Search for appointments toward the end of your vacation. These are less likely to be snatched up by other guests' 60+10 windows.
Book Now, Edit Later: Grab any available slot immediately, then try to modify it later to your preferred time.
Utilize Alert Apps: If unsuccessful, subscribe to alert services like MouseWatcher, Stakeout, MouseDining, or ReserveThemMagic to be notified of cancellations.
Check 3-5 Days Prior: People frequently cancel 3–5 days before their reservation as their daily park plans solidify.
Use the Website: It is generally more reliable than the phone line, though it may require a desktop browser.

Important Tips
Log in at 11:55 PM EST on the 61st day to begin refreshing.

Have credit card details already saved in your My Disney Experience profile.

Bring your own dress/outfit to save money; the basic appointment covers hair and makeup only.

Good luck it’s super cute. Especially in the changing room when they try on their dress - the fairy good mother appears in the mirror! They won’t take money on your credit card when you book either it’s just so they have the details - presumably they would charge if you were a no show!

It sounds lovely, I know she would love it, thanks for everyone’s help!

The dresses are expensive if you are buying theirs, DH is a high earner and was amazed at the cost. You get to keep the make up and bottle of glitter nail polish, they give it to you in a box inside a pink back pack.

Make sure you go to the toilet first,, I really needed the loo when my DD's were having their make up done but I couldn't leave them alone in there, the make up ladies said I'd have to take the girls with me, thank goodness our VIP Guide turned up and was able to sit with them.

When bringing the dresses home you need more space in your suitcase, we had to buy one from the hotel!
How often will they wear the dresses back home? my DD's wore theirs for Fasching (German version of WBD) and haven't looked at them since.

We did a walk-in too. Went in on day1 and booked a slot for another day (or perhaps it was later the same day, don’t remember). They have many seats in each slot so you should find something that works! It was memorable and we still have the ‘goodie bags’ they handed out.

PlainSkyr · 17/05/2026 11:23

And don’t forget to take pictures & videos of the lovely moments, it seems magical once you are back home.

theyawnicorn · 17/05/2026 16:28

@PlainSkyrdid they have lots of availability as a walk-in?

I don’t precisely remember but we weren’t too stressed about it. It was fairly ok back in 2018!

ElsaSnow · 18/05/2026 07:26

They definitely got more strict on bookings since Covid and even though it’s all back to normal, like everything now booking in advance is the preferred option. They do allow a limited number of walk ins per day - not sure what the limit is though I’m afraid!
