1 adult and 1 child (child currently 11)

Where is best to go for a quote? I’ve never been before … don’t know where to start?

how far ahead can I book and are there payment plans?

id like to do both parks but universal studios if I had to pick as I hear best for my sons age range.

You don't have to pick.. can do both, easily. Disney also has loads for age 11 but requires more careful planning to get the most out of it.
if you are interested in staying on site (this gives advantages particularly at universal) then disneyholidays.co.uk or universal orlando sites are good.
Otherwise anywhere will help you, I have read people book through TUI or BA holidays for example.
I am a DIY person (as sometimes combined with a longer trip or air miles flights) but I never get these free dining etc packages people seem keen on. Best ask a travel company. A year in advance is very common from what I see. Good luck.

The first time I went I booked with Virgin holidays and got a single parent discount …not sure if they still do them as that was 12yr ago !!
They also did a price match .

nowadays I book everything myself as I prefer the flexibility.

for your child’s first visit I would have to include Disney - at least the magic kingdom park .

Do lots of research and then put together a rough plan and then start looking for quotes . Use the forums on The Dibb website - a wealth of information !
