Help me pick good games for my new SteamDeck

I got a 2nd hand steam deck recently and I’m not loving it. I got Sims 4 and Victoria 3 so far and for both of them the writing is tiny but even worse i can’t click on what I want to click on….its like the buttons are too small. I got I think it was Skyrim for a free trial and struggled moving around in that/going where I wanted to go/had no idea what I was doing.

which games are worth spending money on? I don’t think I’d be good with fighting games/fast games. I don’t want stuff like farming simulations.

I’d like to be exploring lands, etc, going on a quest but at my own pace.

Personally it took me a while to get used to the joysticks on a steam deck but the more I used it the better it felt. You may have to do some fiddling with sensitivity/overall response with them too to get them optimal, I’d recommend following a youtube tutorial for that, as well as how to tinker with settings for the best outcome overall. Roguelikes are great as it is very pickup and play. If you like adventure games I recommend checking out the steam deck verified list found on steam, or checking out steamdeck sites for good games that play well with the deck. I personally play turn based rpgs and 3d rpgs. Currently play outer worlds

Thanks, I probably do just need to keep playing more. Just seen Hogwarts Legacy is 80% off so just bought that. Fingers crossed I get on with it.

Hogwarts Legacy runs fairly well on my steamdeck minus a few framerate drops. Although if Skyrim is too small you might have a similar time on that game. Older games and indies are what I usually use mine for.
