Sims 1& 2 re-release

Just saw the Sims 1 and 2 are being re-released in a bundle with (almost) all of the expansion packs to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise.

Cue immediate nostalgia and memories of playing the original Sims at Uni on my huge, slow, beige PC. Yes, I'm officially old. I was always pretty bad at it but found it fun nonetheless.

The blurb says they have fixed the bugs but a quick look at first reviews shows it still has some issues with crashing and items randomly turning pink.

I still kind of want to download it and see if it's still as hilarious and impossible as it was back in the day. Anyone else?

I already have TS1 complete collection and TS2 complete collection on discs. So I won’t download these as although digital would be convenient, it sounds like they’re quite buggy.

They both have a sims 4 expansion pack included with them but I have all those. I hope you have a good time playing them but go into it knowing they’ll be glitchy; then you won’t be disappointed.

I have the Sims 2 downloaded and ready to use for when my shifts are finished. I can't wait! I still play 4 to this day so I'm so excited for all the nostalgia.

Was the PC and console versions of the Sims 2 different. I played a lot of the PS2 version and the videos I'm seeing of the new bundle don't seem to match what I remember.

I don't want to buy it and find it's not the game I'm thinking of. I know it was quite common back then for every platform to get it's own unique version - I have about 6 different Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone games

I had forgotten how needy the sims were in the older games. I've been playing the sims 2 and I swear the sims are never happy! Played the sims for about 10 minutes and managed to set the whole house on fire 😂. Definitely worth playing for the nostalgia value.

I think I'm going to get this bundle. I never owned Sims 1&2 growing up because I didn't have a PC but I spent many hours at my friend's house playing it with her on her PC.

I've not played 3 for a long time but have played a lot of Sims 4. I really miss the Burglars and the fact that it was super easy to set fire to your Sim/house if their cooking skills were rubbish. 😂

I bought it after the first 2 emergency patches were released (but the bundle offer was still on). It's now a lot better. I'll be honest I never really found Sims 4 fun, i get bored fairly quickly. In fact I haven't played it in months. I wonder how their player stats have been affected by the release, and whether anyone else (like me) has now ditched Sims 4 for good for their older titles?

I've always preferred 2 to the newer ones and still play it. I had all the discs but lost them over time, then they put it out as a free download quite a few years ago now but I missed it and it went up for sale again. My DH actually messaged EA and somehow wangled a full free download for me. I love having lots of families at the same time and cycling through them all, making them have as many kids as possible (as soon as they grow up and go to uni they have another kid). I find 3 and 4 much harder to handle larger families with in this way which is why I've always preferred 2. Thankfully the bugs have been minimal in the download I got.

I played Sims 4 for the first time in a few months this week, and was astonished to discover that burglars are back 🤣

My poor Sim got visited by burglars twice in a sim-week 🤣

I had to ban myself from playing sims. I mean I actually had to take the disc and post it behind a massive bookcase so I could no longer access it (this was about 20 years ago). I promised myself I’m allowed to play again when I’m no longer so out and about in the world. But ehhh.. so many other games have sucked me in the same. I’m a bit of an addict!
