Fortnite Emotes- what do they mean?

My son has started to do a Fortnite gesture at his sister that she hates and finds hilarious.

when I asked him what he means, he said that other friends do it, but he has no idea what it means. He is now banned from doing it, or any gestures unless he can show me their meaning.

I have tried looking myself and there are so so many. And I have waded through loads of videos and nothing. There seems to be new ones coming out every year and linked to specific characters.

does anyone know what touching you lips twice ( in a shushing motion) and then dragging the finger down your jawline means?

a lot of the ones I have found meanings for seem pretty innocent, but this one has escaped me.

As far as I know they are just a way for players to engage with the characters and anyone wanting to market themselves through Fortnight rather than having an individual meaning. You can buy them, win them, swap them and gift them so they are a bit like currency. I'd liken them to the 'branded' goal celebrations that footballers have.

No problem - it's not particularly offensive but not something I'd want to encourage either.

This is a topic that helps me explore more different aspects of video games like the fun strategies used in raft wars understanding these emoticons can enhance the player's interaction and experience in the game.
