What should I play next - PS5

Just completed Immortals Fenyx Rising and looking for something new to play but nothings jumping out at me.

I’ve previously 100% completed Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West (probably my favourite game), Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Stray, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Burnout, and Hunter: Call of the Wild.

Looking for something preferably open world with similar vibe to Horizon that’s preferably not an 18 rated game. I feel it’s an impossible ask!

I may just have to go back to Elden Ring as I’ve only done three of the seven possible endings and the DLC is out in a few weeks. I dunno just really can’t be bothered right now.

Final fantasy.

Megifer · 06/06/2024 11:59

Bit of an oldie but I've just got back into Fallout 4, never completed it the first time, forgot what a fab game it is! Think it's free on the PlayStation store at the mo?

ScarlettChaos · 06/06/2024 23:53

Both good suggestions thanks! I’ve downloaded Final Fantasy VII Remake as it’s included free with Play Station Plus.

Sone of the assassins creed games?

I have been playing odyssey (play as male or female) and set in Ancient Greece. Probably 18 rated but then all my games are without my consciously picking 18 rated games! (Bar Hogwarts)

Animash

Assassin's Creed Odyssey - pick Kassandra as your playable character. AC Valhalla is also great but I prefer Odyssey. It was made by the same team as Fenix Rising was. I played that and horizon zero dawn around the same time and loved both of them.

Tchia is utterly fantastic and I highly recommend it, it's a bit shorter than the other open world games but also costs way less.

Both of the God of War games are amazing and had me in floods of tears several times with the story. It is an 18 but it's not really any worse than elden ring.

Honourable mentions, astro's playroom, bugsnax, all three spiderman games (Play 1 + DLC, then MIles, then 2), Jusant, and the two spongebob squarepants games.

I have just spent the last 6 months playing Red Dead Redemption 2. If you haven't played this game yet then omg do it! It is the best game I have ever played I think, the scenery is amazing, plenty to do, and the storyline is just fantastic. You don't need to have played the first one either as this is a prequel. But honestly, everybody should play this game, it's stunning.

You will not be disappointed.

I see your RDR2 scenery and raise you Ghost of Tshushima.

I need to give RDR2 another go I tried to get into it straight after GTA5 and just couldn't

ScarlettChaos · 20/06/2024 08:44

I’m almost done with Final Fantasy VII Remake - just the final boss to beat. It was good, I enjoyed it.

I’m considering either RDR2 or Assassin’s Creed next.

Skyrim, Assassins Creed Odyssey, Assassins Creed Black Flag , Jedi Fallen Order. All open world and great games.

addler · 21/06/2024 00:04

RDR2, Fallout 4, the Dragon Age games and all 3x Mass effect games are my favourites and very replayable (from someone who also loved Horizon)

Isn't the last Final Fantasy avalible for PS5? I never tried it. Might be fun!

Idolikeanicepieceofcake · 29/06/2024 15:15

I'm so glad I saw this thread. I absolutely love the Red Dead Redemption games, although all the AC franchise are good in my book. I'm trying to persuade DH that we need to get a PS5...

JurassicClark · 29/06/2024 15:21

Aloy is my favourite character, the Horizon games are fantastic.

Have you played Baldurs Gate 3 or The Witcher games? They allow a lot of exploration and quests like Horizon, although aren't quite as stunningly beautiful. Witcher 3 and the expansion packs in particular were a lot of fun. I haven't played the earlier BG games.

If you feel like going really old school, Skyrim holds up pretty well.

Ghosts of Tsushima is very pretty.

I have just finished god of war (story) and doing the extra bits where I can. I managed all the fights on story mode.

Loved the story. It's 18 but bar some swearing it's not bad at all. Plenty of funny characters (a sarcastic head and some dwarves)

Best if all there is a sequel out as well,
