DS got an upgrade on his Quest for Christmas and I asked him for his old one, to have a play and explore. I've always been a very exercise-shy person but now much to my delight I've found that I'm building up exercise hours playing really fun games in VR. Beatsabre for example is a similar workout to playing tennis and I've discovered more intense workout games are raising my heart rate and getting me sweating and I'm not even realising I'm exercising. For me, this is the perfect answer to my lazy lifestyle.

Anyway, I wondered if anyone else out there is enjoying the same and if we can swap ideas on what games to try and compare notes.

My favourites are:
BeatSabre - both for physical and brain workouts, I love it! I'm getting better but I'm basically not getting further than Easy/Normal mode atm ...but I'll get there!

Hitstream - this is brilliant, full of squats and punches and orb catching and it's a proper workout, only really fun! Totally recommend it, and the bonus is it has no subscription. Just the initial game purchase.

The Thrill of The Fight - omg! Ever wanted to punch the shit out of someone in a boxing ring? no, I didn't realise I had it in me either.... this is an intense one and lots of fun!

There are also immersive meditation apps available such as Tripp which I have really enjoyed using to wind down and relax.

I need to get back into VR fitness!

I play...

Beat Saber - as you know it is slashing blocks to music. I play normal level difficulty but speed it up.

Powerbeats VR - is punching blocks, and you can set it to slashing them too. You can also upload your own music.

X-Fitness - a basic punching one.

FitXR - has boxing, HIIT, dance, sculpt, combat and Zumba. It is about £7 a month, but has new classes every day.

Ragnarock - if you are into rock/metal type music, then this is good fun. It is a drumming game, but my god, it makes you sweat!

Audiotrip - swiping spheres to music, but it is good fun and feels like you are dancing at a rave.

Synth Riders - similar to Audiotrip but a ton more songs to play to. I use it to cool down.

I have not much in the way of VR for a while (apart from Walkabout Mini Golf with my best friend, but that wont get you fit... although it will make you laugh!).
I need to get back into it, but I am a bit of a perfectionist and write down all my workouts in a book so I know what songs/levels I need to play. And I keep trying to beat my PB.

I think VR is really under rated as a way to keep fit. It gets you moving under the guise of gaming, and there is no one else around to see you dripping with sweat.

A tip... get a neck fan for the summer.
