iPad for 7 year old??

My son is 7 and has been asking for an iPad since he was 4 🙄. He has lots of cousins who all have their own, and a few friends at school who do so knows alllll about what he is missing out on lol.

we are a limited screens family, kids have tv time after school on Fridays, on Saturday mornings before football & dance clubs, and a family film on Sunday eve. For the past year or so my son has not been interested in watching the tv with his younger siblings, he usually plays Roblox or similar on my phone. This is getting annoying as often I’d like to be using my phone if the kids are being quiet and not hassling me during their screen times. However I do quite like the fact he would prefer to be problem solving on a computer game rather than mindlessly watching tv.

I guess my first question is should a 7 year old have their own tablet? My partner thinks we should get a family one that he can “share” with his younger siblings, my issue with this is that it then gives the younger ones the idea they can play on it rather than waiting until they are older and this will cause arguments when actually it has been bought with the 7 year old in mind.

Second question is what kind of tablet should I go for if we do decide to get one? 7 year old will use it for playing online games like Roblox and Minecraft with his cousins, educational maths games aimed at 9/10 year olds, and phonics games aimed at 5-7 year olds. He will also use it to do homework on when he moves into y3 in sept. I understand Amazon fire tablets are much cheaper than iPads and come with apps suitable for younger kids but would a 7 year old be growing out of those? would they handle running something like Minecraft and can you use them to do homework on?? I have no idea what homework will be set on, whether it will be an app or by logging in on a website. Can you browse websites on an Amazon fire or is it limited to Amazon apps?

Sorry for the long post, thanks for reading if you made it this far 😂
