Not sure if any wise Mumsnetters can help here - DD16 has been semi-scammed by a new friend. She is autistic and has high levels of anxiety so really struggled to get back to school post-lockdowns. She's now in a specialist school with nice teaching assistants coming to the house a couple of times a week while I'm working on getting her more support. She struggles with friendships and has a tendency to be over-generous. A couple of weeks ago someone contacted her on Roblox - this new person is also a teenager who was told about DD by one of the TAs and made friends with her online.
There followed a pretty intense couple of weeks where they played together online a lot and - at the other girl's request - told each other their passwords and played as each other (yes I know). Yesterday they quarrelled, other girl waited until our wifi was turned off (me trying to ensure DD actually gets to sleep) then traded away her 13 most valuable pets in Adopt Me (apparently these can actually be sold for a fair bit, DD estimates that the best one is worth about £200 and the others about £20 or £10 each). DD has asked for them back (with varying levels of hysteria), new friend has said she could sell them so why bother to return them.
DD has changed passwords now. I've reported it to Roblux (they don't care, it's a sub-game) and tried to report it to Adopt Me but apparently there have been so many problem trades they have closed that section of their website to try to deal with the ones already waiting. We've reported it as a problem on Adopt Me Adoption Island. I've also reported it to the school who are, apparently, going to call me.
Any suggestions on what else to do? I've just been checking eBay - and yes, people do sell Roblux pets on there - and they don't seem to be up for sale. I've been doing all of the sensible parental talks and applying liberal doses of hugs, hot Ribena and tomato soup and toast. Can anyone advise a way of contacting Adopt Me that I haven't tried or another way to get the trades reversed?
