So we have just bought a switch. I've never been that in to computer games so would like some advice on what games to get. We bought Mario Kart which is fun but I'd like a puzzle type game that uses my brain. I've done a bit of Googling but there seems to be quite a lot out there so I'm looking for recommendations. If you play a good escape / puzzle game, can you tell me about it?

i had a good one where you had to USE the Ds to solve the puzzles. like physucally move it at times. Double something it was!

(professor layton are all good, if they are on Switch?) more puzzle than escape though.

Thanks both! I presumed you had to use nintendo switch branded games - no idea that other would work on it. Off to google them now ........

well they all need to say NINTENDO SWITCH but they don't need to be made by Nintendo.

Professor layton original games are not on switch, just the newer Millionaire variant which i don't enjoy.

Amazon doesn' seem to have a PUZZLE genre in switch games unfortunately.

I like Layton’s mystery journey. Captain Toads Treasure Tracker is a sort of puzzle game that’s a lot of fun. Puzzle games are some of my favourite too so I’m interested to see what others recommend.

Not really puzzle game- but Stardew Valley is fantastic. A really soothing role playing game where you run a farm, tend to animals, collect items and do quests for people. It’s about £5-10 on the Nintendo store. It’s a retro style game.

I thought I’d suggest it because I really like the ‘puzzle’ element of finding the lost items with clues, and also mapping out how to get the most out of my crops and produce to earn the most money. I have made some great excel spreadsheets!

It’s completely open ended so no time limit and no stress.

Oh I love stardew valley so cute. Prefer it to animal crossing I think which has a similar vibe.

Puzzle can be quite a wide genre thinking about it.

If you include real time strategy in your definition of puzzle then pikmin is good. You have a little army of plant creatures, different colours have different abilities, and you have to decide how to deploy them to overcome various obstacles and collect the parts to repair your ship. It’s also a cute game.

If you’re looking for point and click puzzles (along the lines of monkey island) you can get quite a few on the switch store. I enjoyed broken age, but for the added element of humour grim fandango and thimbleweed park are fun.

Stardew Valley is AMAZING, my favourite game currently. Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker is a good puzzle game, as mentioned above.
