Looking for other women for D&D

Hi I'm in the UK and looking to get into playing D&D with some other women. It's proven quite hard to find a women's group so I'm hoping to put together one of my own.

I've never played before so any levels of experience would be welcome. If you've done this before I'd definitely appreciate having someone around that knows the ropes!

Ideally I'd like to have a go as an adventurer but would happily have a shot at being DM if no one else fancies it.

I've put up an ad on a popular D&d forum and have 2 other players interested, but hoping to get a party of up to 6 players + DM if possible.

I was thinking we could meet for game nights either fortnightly or monthly depending on what works for everyone, probably in the evenings to accommodate those with children.

Hi op. Not my thing but have you searched on the website Meetup if you want to meet people in real life? Looks like there's a lot of people there when I just searched 'meetup dungeons and dragons'. Also wonder if it's worth you posting on local Facebook groups? Best of luck - hope you find some people!

Also might be worth saying where you are geographically for other Mumsnetters - we're all over the place :-)

Sorry I should have said I was thinking online tabletop D&D - which sounds weird.
People use things like Zoom, Discord and Roll20 for managing and playing games together, so I thought that would be a good way of getting a game going no matter where in the UK people were based.

There's been a wee bit of interest and we are currently sorting out when to do our first meeting but we still have places available, if you fancy giving it a go PM me. We're all new at this so don't be shy

Further update - places filled up quickly this morning but if anyone is still interested there are other people over in Chat and there's talk of getting other groups together
