Nintendo switch with mario kart

DH (42) has asked for a Nintendo switch with mario kart for his birthday! Jammy git!

Does anyone know where the best place to buy them from are? I have no idea as have not played on a console since I was a kid.

I don't know if I'm buying the one that you can plug into the telly or if it's just hand held (he wants the telly one) anyone got any ideas?

The current nintendo switch is fab - it does both!!! You have it on its "dock" for the tv but can pick it ip and play with it hand held too.

We love Mario Kart. I just went online and did price comparison on google (argos/currys/tesco/smyths etc) . All much the same bit sometimes theres a bit of difference.

The lite switch is hand held only but the normal switch can be used as either.

Bought my daughters switch off amazon

@OutlookStalking thanks so much got checking. I've managed to find a really good deal (I hope) £229 on Dimprice was a lot cheaper than anywhere else so hoping I've not been scammed 😂

Also find some games for you, there's lots you can do with a switch.

I've never heard of Dimprice so hope they are ok.
If you don't mind secondhand then CEX is always good value and I mostly find their customer service (if something goes wrong with the product) is good.

Watching as ds (13) is saving up for a switch, and he’s pretty much there.

OutlookStalking · 28/02/2022 17:02

Googled and not sure about dimprice. Looks like mixed reviews.

I (aged 41) got a switch for my birthday from dh, I love it! I've got the OLED one which is handheld and playable on TV. Dh got it from Argos I believe (he is very thorough on doing his research!)
We love Mario kart and nintendo are gearing up to release several new tracks as DLC in March.

@negomi90 thank you! I'll order that too!

Just as an update the Nintendo switch came from Dim Price today and all looks well! Brand new in the box and delivered on time. Pretty impressed for the price. £229 and free shipping.

Yay that is fab!

drspouse · 03/03/2022 21:23

DS (who is 10) has the Switch and plays on the TV or the console. I'd love some recommendations of games for a middle aged numpty can play.

Shoxfordian · 16/03/2022 06:55

If you buy Nintendo online pass, about 20 quid, then you can get lots of free tracks for Mario kart, first ones coming on Friday 😃

@drspouse, you might like Animal Crossing or one of the stardew valley type games. Mario party is good fun and you could play that with your son
