Anyone else hoping to pick up a PS5?

Just that really. 2DS's been in and out of lockdown for 18 months and no game consol . Couldn't get one last year.. Hoping to get one this year as a Christmas present.

I got mad when I saw grown men trying to sell them for £800+ on my local parenting FB page.

Any tips on actually getting one this year

We followed ps5 stock alerts on twitter. One week we stayed up till one every night to try and get one from various stock drops. In the end my DH got one at four in the morning when working night shift, through sheer chance, as the drop had been predicted at midnight. That was from Argos.

It's worth watching the stock alerts.

Go to a local branch of Game and ask to go on their waiting list, they call you when it's in. Took DH a couple of weeks to get one and was much simpler than any of the online ordering he tried.

You need to register everywhere for one. We eventually got one through the Curry's lottery.

Brilliant, I've added myself to the Twitter alerts and printed off a list of Game near me. There are 5 within an hours drive.

My DS's would love this from Santa.

I managed to get one after a good few weeks of trying using the Twitter stock alert

Follow Game on Twitter, like your ds mine wanted a games console you couldn't get for love or money (Xbox Series-X) He followed Game on Twitter & one Saturday was on the bus to town when he saw that Game had some coming in stock, rang me to transfer the money I had saved ready for one & was the first in the shop to get one. I also recommend following Argos, Smyths Toy Store & John Lewis if you have them in your area.

That has helped me. I have got one reserved at an Argos in Leicestershire that I don’t need if anyone would like to try and get it when I cancel?

No tips sorry but fingers crossed they come back into stock before Xmas. The scalpers royally took the piss on the official UK release! There's been laws made since to stop a reoccurrence.
I finally gave in & got my son one £730 from Cex, there was some going on fb market place & some ps uk groups that were slightly cheaper but I wouldn't give the tossers the satisfaction. At least at places like cex you get a warranty & receipt.

Definitely sign up up HotStock - my friend and my OH got one through their notifications.

Create logins with likes of Game, John Lewis, Smyths, Argos, Amazon. Add the console to your favourites and as soon as the notification come from HotStock go straight to favourites and check out.

Really hope you can get one, ours was a birthday present for DS after a terrible year and he was just over the moon when he got it

I managed to get my son one. From game. If the drop says 12 don't go on at 12 go on much earlier. Or you will get stuck in the queue. I went on 45 mins before the drop and constantly refreshed my screen. I mean constantly my fingers never left the phone . As soon as 12 hit I got it right away without being in the automatic queue thingy.

I'm waiting for the xbox x, almost impossible to get at the moment.

I subscribed to StockInformer and last week there was a huge drop on Amazon, it arrived next day and we paid retail for it.

Keep checking websites like that you'll get one!

Fortunately DS 15 randomly exclaimed out of the blue he didn't need to upgrade to a PS5 like his cousins so I lied and said oh that's a relief because I've tried and failed to get hold of one

Another vote for stock Informer notifications from me - I managed to get 2 for my boys in the last couple of weeks, one from Very and one from Amazon Prime. BT emailed too this morning to say they have some.

I signed up for stock alerts via stock informer on the telegram app. It took me about six weeks to be not busy at work and to react to a stock message from very. Ordered it two weeks ago and it arrived Friday.
