RAFT - new to gaming

Has anyone played RAFT my son wants me to play it with him but judging by his first attempt (below) I will be eaten by a shark as soon as I step foot of the raft. Looks pretty good fun though. My son has built a gaming PC and giving him his gaming laptop to try and encourage me to play some more games with him and his friends.

Grab a hook, and start hooking in wood, plastic and palms as quickly as you can, and use it to increase your raft size. (you get loot much faster using the hook) Bruce, the shark, doesn't attack continuously. He will eat one square, then bugger off for a bit. So if you make sure your raft is a decent size, and just replace the chomped squares, you can focus on getting food and water sorted out instead.

That first half an hour feels a little crazy, but it's really good fun. I love Raft, can't wait for the next content update.
