GTA racing mode only?

TwelveDogsOfChristmas · 28/12/2020 11:04

My 13yo is desperate for me to allow him to get GTA and swears blind he only wants the racing mode and would never play the story mode.

Common sense media parents rating is 13+ which surprises me. I have heard awful things and it's obviously an 18 game.

Is racing mode harmless? Could I disable the other mode?

Thanks

The game is rated 18 for a reason, none of the content is appropriate for a 13 year old,
I definitely wouldn’t let my 13 year old DS play it, even just the small racing section.

If he wants a racing game there are plenty of great racing games out there, this sounds like more of a convenient way to get access to the game.

And no you can not disable the main game.

The racing mode is just an addition side game, there’s no way to give him access to that without giving him access to the main game.

Agreed - there are loads of racing games, why can't he play those?

Santaisreel · 28/12/2020 12:02

It's an 18. Just say no.

Well, yes this is what I thought. Can anyone recommend any similar racing games (similar to the racing aspect only)?

You can't access the racing game without fully going into online mode. I'd recommend need for speed payback/heat. Although not sure on the age rating

If you're interested in playing races (or any other game that doesn't require double money) you must join by joining the series. They usually have full lobby areas. Here are also some car and racing modes for GTA 5 to check.
