Help! I bought Kindles for my DS’ for christmas and have left it until today to sort them out and add games. Argh!! I have bought the minecraft app and used parent amazon to download it on to the kindles...but, I don’t know what to do next. How do they play? Do they need their own account? How do I sign them in? Do we have to use Xbox live? Do they need email addresses? I would appreciate any help, don’t want them to be disappointed on Christmas Day. I also can’t work out how to get the same home screen on their profiles as there is on mine e.g.with the calculator, map app etc. Is there a way I can do that? Thank you!

I downloaded it onto my kids kindles, made sure they couldn't purchase anything and left them to it from there. We don't have an x box and I'm not sure how they start building their worlds but they watched some bits on you tube when they got stuck. They were 5&6 when I did this

Thank you, We don’t have an Xbox either, when I opened the app on the kindle there was a place to sign in. It took me to a Microsoft sign in and then said I needed an Xbox live account. I must be doing something wrong!

I just went through this whole thing with my kids kindles. After signing one of them up to a Microsoft account I realised that wasn’t what they needed and had to sign out again!
If they don’t sign into anything they can create their own worlds and play each other as long as they are on the same WiFi network. This is exactly what I wanted as they can’t spend money. If they want to play friends online I think that is when they need a sign in and to start paying money although it really wasn’t clear.

No you dont need a sign in. BUT if the kindle ever breaks or gets lost all their worlds will be gone, so consider backing up to a PC or laptop if you can.
I think you need to go on their kindle, go to settings, share and manage content and add apps from there.

Thank you. Will have another try when they’re in bed tonight. I’ve been looking at the kids unlimited subscription, is it worth signing up? I have no idea what I’m doing 😬
