How to change email to log into Xbox only

Hi - wondering if anyone can help...

When I bought my son his xbox 4 years ago I set it up with my email address. He now want to use his email address so his name shows up next to his gamer tag instead of mine when he’s online. I can’t see how to do this without changing the email for my whole Microsoft account including my hotmail to his. Have googled but no help as we only want to change the email associated with Xbox live. Any gamers out there who can help? TIA

I have a username on mine. It's never had my real name. Has he had a fiddle in his profile settings?

I would have a look but my Xbox is knackered ATM.

I'm not sure if you can change the email address because as far as I know, the email/gamertag is linked to one particular Microsoft account.
When I go into the Xbox settings (Xbox One) I have the option to change what my 'real name' appears as, but then changing it to his name might then apply to all of the other things linked to your account.
However I also have the option to switch off 'real name' sharing. Would he be happy with that instead? So only his gamertag will show, without your real name next to it
