GOT Catan - is it worth it?!

It's my husband's birthday coming up and I've just seen the special GOT Catan. It looks really interesting, we are both keen board gamers and love GOT. But it's really expensive and don't want to waste money if it's not great. Does it play well 2 player?

If not, recommendations welcome!

Catan is great! There is a great GOT board game if you are into heavy board games :(

No idea why the smiling face appeared lol Will get the link for board game if interested, if you look on Board game Geek website it lists reviews and detailed descriptions of all boardgames so you know what your buying (we are massive board gamers! :D)

There is a 2 player card based version of Catan (with several different expansions); DH and I play it a lot.

I'd also second Board Game Geek as a resource.
