Ingress

I knows loads of people on here play Pokémon Go, but does anyone play ingress by the same people?

I'd love to have someone to chat to about it. A lot of the portals are in the same places as Pokémon gyms (I think? I've never played Pokémon, just repeating what I've heard).

I used to play but haven't touched it in a while. As a rural player I do better with Pokemon because Ingress is all about portals and we have next to none. At least Pokemon has some action away from pokestops. Pokemon Go was populated from Ingress, not all the portals made it across as gyms/pokestops but the majority did.

I play mostly as an Ingress tourist, when I have an hour or more to kill somewhere new. I've spent a few Sunday mornings wandering around cities doing banner missions. I have no interest whatsoever in the backstory.

Yes! I play and have been doing so for a year and a half, I just reached Level 14. :)

I love it immensely, and have even been to one of the big events. (Anomalys)

It was the first game created by Niantic, and yes Pokémon go pokestops and gyms are based where portals are in Ingress. (Although due to algorithms which I could bore you with, there are more places in Ingress than PoGo.
