Buying a game on Steam

I want to buy Motorsport Manager for DS for Christmas. He's already got a steam account. How does it work with me buying him a game? I'm guessing I don't get a disc in a box that I can wrap and put under the tree??

No disk. Once you buy it, it goes into his steam library ready to be downloaded and installed. So if he uses steam a lot he will see it before Xmas unless you wait till Xmas eve. You can buy steam gift cards though.

No disk no, steam is entirely digital.

What you need to do is open your own steam account, buy the game as a gift and choose the option to not send it straight away and it will sit in your gift inventory and you can then send it t him on Christmas Day.

Alternatively you could buy him some steam credit, I'm pretty sure they do gift cards, you could wrap one and put that under the tree.

(From DH who is a steam expert)

Eternal how could I forget about gifting from other accounts. DP is also a steam expert and has a group of friends who are always gifting each other.
