best <cheap> laptop/tablet for 6-8yo

Hi, am looking at laptops and tablets as possible Christmas presents for them,

for homework, using youtube, playing games etc.
hoping to be Very sub £100...
is there anything out there worth it? or better to get one laptop for them to share?

we have a hudl for the children to share. not quite under £100 but it's surprisingly good.

I want to get my kids a tablet for Xmas & am debating debating between a Samsung and a hudl.

can they word process on these things?

Kindle Fire HD. Got my (then 7 yo) son one last xmas and quality of display is great. He uses it for reading, games, internet and youtube. Good parental controls. Reasonable battery life. He is really happy with it.

Kindle is a good size for that siz hands too. He holds it better than he does the ipad for games.
