Which Xbox for a 9year old?

I need some help please, my DS has asked for an Xbox for christmas, I don't know much about them other than the 360 is cheaper! Is this because it's about to become obsolete?

He would be using it to mainly play FIFA and minecraft, are there other childrens games that are any good? It's unlikely he would be going online.

there arent that many games for the xbox one and the games arent backwards compatible i.e. you cant play xbox 360 games on the xbox one. I would probably get the xbox 360 as there is a bigger choice of games especially for children.

My ds is 9 and we are getting him a Xbox360 there are so many more games available.

Yep, I have the PS3, but knowing how many games are available in general for consoles, your DS could easily spend the next 1-3 years just catching up on the 360 games before buying the newest generation of console. Have fun!

We got ds the 360 last year. Far more choice of games especially for the younger age group.
He uses it for minecraft and disney infinity mainly but loves the kinect games he has too.
