PS3 Games with Strong Story Lines?

Fave games are Beyond Two Souls, Red Dead, GTA, Heavy Rain.

Quit LA Noire about 3/4 of the way through and I know that The Last of Us is meant to be amazing but I found it waaay too scary

Any recommendations?

Yakuza 4. Brilliant as long as you can put up with some lengthy (but brilliantly voiced) video scenes. Great characters, excellent responsive controls and totally bizarre in places.

JCDenton · 06/07/2014 23:56

I'm going to throw in the standard recommendation for the Mass Effect trilogy and for interactivity Fallout: New Vegas is up there.

Femshep · 24/07/2014 16:16

Mass Effect 1 Mass Effect 2 Mass Effect 3.

Thank me later Wink

In all seriousness though they are the best games I have ever played (and I play a lot Blush).

They have a really cool feature where you can carry the same character (along with physical features) over all three games making it really easy to get attached. Lots of romance choices too, with both humans and aliens Grin .

I love the uncharted trilogy, 1 and 3 are the best imo.

BadLad · 25/07/2014 12:22

Prefer uncharted 2 myself

Gaige · 25/07/2014 12:37

The fallout games are amazing! I'm hoping they're going to bring a new one out soon

GalaxyInMyPants · 27/07/2014 18:31

Is the last of us scary? I was thinking of getting it.

Gaige · 29/07/2014 22:47

It can be in places but it is a really good game

GalaxyInMyPants · 30/07/2014 06:52

Thanks, think I,ll get it.

theshield · 31/07/2014 12:39

All the uncharted games. If you have a vita then uncharted golden abyss is good. The Bio shock games seem good as well

ItsANameChanger · 21/08/2014 15:04

Uncharted 2 is probably the best game I have ever played.

Red dead Redemption is awesome. Anyone want to share their PSN name and have a game at some point?

Sofarris · 22/08/2014 11:50

I agree that the Fallout games are incredible, you get so much freedom while also being driven by a pretty compelling storyline. I know you said you found the Last of Us way too scary but I beg you to try playing it again. I found it very jumpy at first but as I got into it the fear allayed slightly. If you're looking for a compelling storyline you can't do better than it, it's like playing a blockbuster film!

Zazzles007 · 23/08/2014 11:56

The Uncharted series would be one of my all time favourite games. Amazing stories, great character development and loads of fun.

Also just finished Bioshock Infinite which was absolutely mind blowing! Highly recommended, especially if you like really smart story telling, beautiful settings and fully fleshed out characters. The ending really had me sitting there pondering the full extent of the stories conclusion (no spoilers! Grin).

Please play "the last of us", it is brilliant - I'd say more resident evil type old school scares.

If you can skin an animal in Red Dead - your hardcore enough for last of us: )

What about skyrim?

Oh no no my friend - Silent Hill is scary!! The noise, the pyramid head, the siren and the fog.

I'm feeling anxious just rembering it! Shame it dated so badly, not the same now..

Zazzles007 · 22/09/2014 22:49

The Assassin's Creed franchise is another one I really enjoyed, although in the later games, the story can get quite convoluted. They are loads of fun to play though, having played every game in the franchise (apart from the latest ones).

Speaking of scary games, I also love the Dark Souls games, not really much of a story to speak of, but lots of dungeon crawling, RPG goodness. It is also quite hard (until you get into the swing of it), and you will die, over and over and over again, so be prepared for that. Leveling up helps a lot with the boss battles and difficult foes though. Having said that, if you like enjoy being frightened witless, it is deliciously scary (shivers).
